The Institute for Municipal Public Safety of Southern Africa unequivocally stands for all involved in the sphere of municipal public safety in Southern Africa – municipal policing, municipal By-law enforcement, municipal security services and City Police within local government.
Membership is as inclusive as possible, and is also extended to other functionaries such as health inspectors, building inspectors, fire safety officers and technical personnel appointed as law enforcement officers. The institute negotiates with higher authority for the promotion of the profession and also serves as a platform for contact, discussion and negotiation with various authority bodies.
Each year IMPS hosts a conference for all our members. It is the highlight of the municipal calendar across the country. We have been hosting conferences since 2003 with the idea of inspiring, uplifting and educating our members on latest must-know information and training within the public safety sector.
