Organisational Structure

The National Council consists of 15 elected members, co-opted members, the outgoing president, chairpersons of regional councils, Political-Will councillors and an Adviser on professional and related matters.

Training Offered

National Training is developed for Municipal Law Enforcement Officers by Educational Institutions in consultation with IMPS-SA towards urgent capacitating of the profession.

Membership is as inclusive as possible, and is also extended to other functionaries such as health inspectors, building inspectors, fire safety officers and technical personnel appointed as law enforcement officers.
The institute negotiates with higher authority for the promotion of the profession and also serves as a platform for contact, discussion and negotiation with various authority bodies.

IMPS Annual Conferences

Each year IMPS hosts a conference for all our members. It is the highlight of the municipal calendar across the country. We have been hosting conferences since 2003 with the idea of inspiring, uplifting and educating our members on latest must-know information and training within the public safety sector.
